Comparative analysis of professional English texts

Cílem této bakalářské práce je srovnat tři odborné texty psané v anglickém jazyce. Všechny texty se zabývají humanoidními roboty, ale každý z jiného úhlu pohledu. První z textů je zveřejněn ve vědeckém časopise ‘Science Robotics‘ a je příkladem populárně naučného stylu. Druhý z nich je vyňatý z knihy ‘Humanoid Robots, Human-like machines‘ a zastupuje odborný styl. Třetím materiálem k analýze je video, které je zveřejněno na YouTube kanálu společnosti CNET. Aby mohlo být video použito jako výchozí materiál bakalářské práce, musel být text videa nejdříve přenesen do písemné podoby. Rozdíl mezi těmito texty je patrný, neboť každý z nich je určený pro jiný typ čtenáře či posluchače. V práci jsou popsány obsahy vybraných textů a vysvětleny jejich styly. Dále se práce zaměřuje na porovnání textů z hlediska mluveného a psaného jazyka, analýzu textů podle Jakobsonova modelu komunikace a na analýzu podle registru.

Cílem této bakalářské práce je srovnávací analýza odborných textů z oblasti informatiky. Jako téma pro materiály byla zvolena technologie VxLAN, která je nejčastěji používána v datových centrech. Prvním textem pro analýzu je článek z webového časopisu, druhým je technická dokumentace Request for Comments (RFC), třetím je video přednáška. Hlavním cílem této práce je prozkoumat vybrané materiály z různých pohledů a určit, do jaké míry se texty, psané a mluvené, liší v použití jazyka a jaké jsou jejich společné rysy. K dosažení tohoto cíle jsou materiály zkoumány z hlediska několika diskurzních rysů, mezi které patří funkce jazyka, styl a žánr, koheze, koherence a deixe. Práce se také zaměřuje na zjištění, zda jsou analyzované materiály typickými představiteli svých žánrů a stylů.

Vizual Representaion of Selected Electronic Music Styles

This work is the result of the transfer of the author's musical experiences, perceptions and ideas to a static visual form. Selected electronic music styles like Dubstep, Breakbeat, Drumandbass, Trance, Techno, Psytrance have some typical characters that the author tries to capture in visual form. The result is a set of computer work that represent the musical styles and express the author's visual ideas that gets through the listening of the musical styles.

Jiri Trnka's Scenography in the National Theatre

Jiri Trnka (1912 - 1969) ranks among the foremost representatives of Czech modern art in the 20th century and alongside the most remarkable protagonists of the visual art scene over a period ranging from the late 1930s through the end of the1960s. He stood out within that movement for his multiple talents, as a draughtsman, book illustrator, puppet designer, painter, animated film-maker, sculptor and stage designer. He achieved admirable success in these fields of activity. In the early 40s a new prospect opened up for him connected with work in theatre, as he took up the post of stage designer at the National Theatre in Prague, an assignment which enabled him to put to use his specific talent for stagecraft. He created 13 stage decorations together. Trnka was able to create unforgettable productions thanks the cooperation with Jiri Frejka or Karel Dostal. I documented and explained Trnka's work in the context of the Nation Theatre during the Second World War. I defined his style in the relation to his contemporaries in the end of work. Media and Stylistic Analysis of Texts of Chosen Public Person

The diploma thesis concerns the discourse of a selected public official (Tomio Okamura) in the media. The thesis contains three parts. The first of them discusses the media in general and also their connection to politics. The second part deals with the discourse style in the media communication sphere and it includes specific language elements that are typical for discourse in this area. The last, third part contains the analysis of three discourse types: radio interview, TV interview and TV debate. In each of these three groups, 4 speeches are analyzed. At the end, the thesis comes to a synthesis of characteristic elements and assessment of how these elements affect the overall style of Tomio Okamura's discourse.

Meditation, contemplation, spirituality in art

This thesis focuses on the concepts of meditation, contemplation and spirituality in visual art. It tries to explain and describe them in the framework of artistic creation in historical and contemporary contexts, in general terms, but also in pedagogical and didactic theories and approaches. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the reader to these concepts within art, pedagogical theory and practice, and to find out how other educators work with these issues within art classes. The theoretical part describes various artistic movements, tendencies, approaches and inspirational perspectives on the themes of meditation, contemplation and spirituality through visual or performative works and artist's statements. The practical part includes the artist's approach to these themes in her own artistic elaboration of the artist's work realized outdoors. In the didactic part, specific artistic tasks and procedures are formulated, which are realized by the pupils of the Primary Art School in Štětí. The didactic work is concluded with a questionnaire survey of 23 respondents of primary and art schools. Characteristic of ESP written communication

Cílem této bakalářské práce je definovat, co je to angličtina pro specifické účely, vymezit její styly a žánry. Tato práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí. V první části je stručně představen anglický jazyk pro specifické účely a jeho historie. Jsou zde přiblíženy styly tohoto jazyka a je vysvětleno jejich použití. Ve druhé části jsem definoval žánry tohoto jazyka, vysvětlil účel každého z nich a ukázal, jak se dále dělí. Ve třetí části jsou prezentovány části textů, jež jsou analyzovány a porovnány: dva texty z elektrotechniky a dva texty z medicíny. V obou oblastech je porovnáván úryvek z populárně vědeckého článku a učebnice. Analýza je provedena ve čtyřech kategoriích: koheze, deixe, signposting a hedge. Tyto výsledky jsou porovnány nejdříve ve stejném oboru mezi rozlišnými styly a následně mezi odlišnými obory – elektrotechnika a medicína. Všechny výsledky jsou komentovány.
